Description

This module aims to introduce students to the concepts of control and automation which are the basis of Industry 3.0 and the foundations upon which Industry 4.0 manufacturing systems are built. The module explores two key themes: control and automation. Control theory is developed and applied to mathematically model open and closed loop systems. Concepts of automation focus on the design and commissioning of automated systems, including evaluation of performance.
